Islamabad, November 1, 2024– Mr. Jamal Shah, President the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) hosted a memorable farewell dinner last night to honor His Excellency Mitsuhiro WADA, the outgoing Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, for his invaluable contributions to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Japan. Madam WADA was also present at this occasion.
The President of PJCA, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the association, lauding the ambassador’s dedication and highlighting the diplomatic milestones achieved during his tenure. In his speech, Mr. Jamal Shah said, “Your Excellency, your tenure in Pakistan has been one of historic milestones, marked by initiatives that have enriched our societies and deepened our mutual understanding. Through your leadership, we have seen increased collaboration across various fields, including education, health, and infrastructure, reflecting a shared commitment to progress and prosperity.”
Since assuming his position, His Excellency has overseen numerous initiatives aimed at fostering cultural exchange, economic cooperation, and educational opportunities, all of which have strengthened the ties between the two nations. Through his support of various cultural and educational programs, the ambassador has paved the way for future generations to carry forward the torch of Japan-Pakistan friendship.
Ambassador Mitsuhiro WADA expressed his gratitude to PJCA and the Pakistani people, underscoring his deep respect and appreciation for the hospitality and warmth he experienced throughout his tenure. Reflecting on the achievements and collaborative projects, he emphasized his confidence that Pakistan-Japan relations would continue to grow and flourish in the years to come.
The farewell dinner was held at the Silk Road Culture Center, G-5/1, Islamabad which was also attended by Prof. Dr. Nusrat Ara Majeed, Senior Vice President PJCA, Mr. Behram (Tsuyoshi) Shah (Tokunaga), Vice President PJCA, Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, former Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan & the Executive Member of PJCA, Mr. Zafar Mahmood, Mr. Aminullah Baig, Ms. Rubeena Orita executive members of PJCA and Mr. Mushtaq Moeeni, Secretary General PJCA, Syed Ahmed Masood, Chairman Sir Syed Memorial Trust, dignitaries, Mr. Kazumasa Takane, Head of Public Affairs, Ms. Mamiko Ura, Deputy Head Public Affairs and Mr. Riki Baig from the Embassy of Japan, and prominent figures in cultural and all gathered to celebrate the ambassador’s remarkable legacy.(eom)
