Ambassador Hosts Dinner for PJCA President
H.E. Ambassador AKAMATSU Shuichi and Madam Shuichi graciously hosted a dinner in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Jamal Shah, President of Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA), Islamabad, at the Ambassador’s residence on February 20, 2025. The evening was also attended by Prof. Dr. Nusrat Ara Majeed, Senior Vice President PJCA, and Mr. Mushtaq Moeeni, Secretary General PJCA.
Upon arrival, the guests were warmly welcomed by the Ambassador and Madam Shuichi. As a token of appreciation, President PJCA presented a bouquet to the Ambassador, while Ms. Amna Shah gifted a traditional Pakistani shawl to Madam Shuichi. In return, the Ambassador presented an Expo 2025 Osaka information kit to all the guests. Mr. Jamal Shah also presented books by Ustad Bashir, a renowned maestro of miniature painting in Pakistan, and briefly introduced them to the Ambassador.
Adding a special cultural touch to the evening, Madam Shuichi, a certified master of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, prepared and served authentic Japanese tea, offering guests a taste of Japan’s rich traditions.
During the dinner, the Ambassador and President PJCA engaged in in-depth discussions on cultural cooperation between Japan and Pakistan, exploring opportunities in film, visual arts, performing arts, and artist exchanges. The conversation highlighted the shared commitment to strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.
A culinary highlight of the evening was the exquisite Japanese cuisine prepared by Ambassador’s chef, Mr. KAWAHIRA Kazuhito, who crafted a special menu for the distinguished guests. At the end of the dinner, the guests personally thanked the chef for the exceptional dishes he prepared and served.
This evening of cultural exchange and friendship further strengthened the warm and long-standing relations between Japan and Pakistan. PJCA remains committed to fostering meaningful collaborations and celebrating the rich heritage of both nations.
